Great Autumn Fashion for Muslim Girls

Autumn is a difficult time when it comes to fashion trends, being the in between stage, similar to spring. It isn’t cold enough to wear thick woolly jumpers, however it definitely isn’t hot enough to wear a dress. The colours are also a bit of a hit and miss, with bold colours being slightly too summery, while blacks and browns seem too dull.

It can be hard to distinguish what clothes should be worn in the Autumn season, however high street stores are one step ahead of the game, already getting the perfect stock in for AW13 and by looking round your favourite shops, you are sure to find some of the best outfits you can for the upcoming season.

It seems the trends have not altered too much from summer 13 with just a few differences to make them acceptable for the gloomier weather. While monochrome is still bang on trend, some of the bright colours have been toned down slightly in order to add slight variety and ease us into the dark colours that will accompany the winter trends.

Layers are all the rage for autumn, which is desirable as we are more than likely to see a lot of rain so being comfortable and warm while also bang on trend is extremely convenient. Oversized jumpers are definitely in this season and teamed with a maxi skirt or layered over a dress, you will be the envy of passers-by.

For a night-time look, you will be able to find plenty of party dresses that offer the perfect outfit, allowing for a great look, whatever the occasion. Whether you choose to have a detailed dress, or a minimalistic outfit with accessories, it is easy to create the perfect nighttime outfit for autumn. While the bold colours may not be as popular during the day, it seems they are still readily available on the high street, suggesting they haven’t been dismissed just yet and are a perfect option for a party, giving your look the ‘wow’ factor. Monochrome is also a great look and can still be seen in all the latest fashion trends.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to wear a dress, a maxi skirt and layered top is another fashionable idea. Teamed with a neon print top, it will add an element of brightness in the dreary months and layers will offer a few different looks in your outfit. With unique styles for your hijab and patterned scarves that match your outfit, you will be able to create the perfect fashionable look and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune. So whatever the occasion, there is always an excuse to buy a new outfit.

Dressing Practically in the Snow

It’s safe to say a lot of us had high hopes for the spring, but unfortunately it hasn’t turned out how we had anticipated. Following the success of last spring we were all planning our spring outfits and looking forward to ditching the layers. The snow all across the country means abandoning the winter clothes isn’t exactly an option and it is important to dress correctly for the unprecedented cold weather. Here are some handy tips to ensure you dress to suit the weather without compromising your Islamic fashion.

Layers are probably the most obvious way to stay warm during the freezing period. Tights or leggings will keep the heat without making your abaya tight or clingy. A fashionable coat can keep your look up to date while also being extremely practical and great for the outdoor weather, giving you a head turning look. Winter coats are most commonly dark, but it may be possible to find one that’s slightly brighter. This will be perfect for the in-between seasons period, allowing you to wear your colourful clothes without compromising the practicality.

Wearing the appropriate footwear is probably one of the biggest concerns, especially in the unprecedented snow. Wearing practical shoes will keep your feet warm and can help you to keep your footing on the dreaded ice that follows. If it is possible, ballet pumps and high heels should be avoided, however, this may be impossible. Wear sensible footwear outside and simply change when you are safely indoors. Boots are extremely fashionable and there may be some great deals after the winter period, with black being the statement colour and most versatile.

Using the right accessories will finish your look off and add those finishing touches. A bold coloured hijab will add brightness to your look in the winter weather. If the majority of your outfit is black, try a red hijab to give you show stopping style and a head turning look. Bangles and bracelets in matching or complementary colours will bring your outfit together, showing off your fashionable side. Dressing up can be difficult in this weather and practicality is the biggest concern, therefore, accessories are the easiest way to give you a glamorous and elegant look.

Spring Islamic Fashion Ideas

Spring is just around the corner! With the lovely weather we have recently been seeing it seems we are slowly getting there. Therefore, its time to start thinking about the upcoming fashion trends we are likely to be seeing. Maxi dresses are always on trend and fit nicely with Islamic fashion. With the long flowing dress or skirt it doesn’t show off the figure and doesn’t reveal flesh, offering a modest look for the wearer.

Maxi skirts are a great fashion idea for Spring and Summer 2013. They have been in fashion for at least the past century, being the main element in a lady’s wardrobe. With the odd change in fashion, the maxi skirt always seems to bounce back. Meaning it makes a great investment for your summer wardrobe. The free flowing element will keep you cool in the summer heat and the bright colours mean it can be worn with just about anything.

Maxi dresses also have the free flowing element; to keep you cool during summer. Wearable in all seasons, including holidays means the maxi dress is a very popular design for any fashion lover. The bright and bold patterns offer a modest yet elegant look, without revealing flesh or a figure. For sleeveless maxi dresses, team it with a cardigan in a complimentary colour to create the perfect look.

It is important with both maxi dresses and skirt to find a dress to suit your shape. It doesn’t have to be figure hugging, but it has to fit well. For example, someone of a smaller posture may find some maxi dresses will drown them. This is an easy problem to solve, petite sections in stores are more than likely to stock maxi dresses or you could take it to be hemmed or do it yourself. Team the dress or skirt with accessories to create the perfect look.
